Accelerator Academy of Social Enterpreneurship

The Academy of Social Entrepreneurship

The program focuses on application of the concept of social entrepreneurship among non-profit organizations. It promotes the idea that social entrepreneurship should provide benefits for the clients, the community in which the entrepreneurial organization operates as well as the organization itself. We view social entrepreneurship as an opportunity to obtain unallocated funding, which is one of the fundamental pillars underlying non-profit organizations' long-term, systematic and independent work. In practice the Accelerator helps organizations set up their operations in a way that ensures that their business activities become an organic part of the organization's work and are sustainable over the long term.

The Academy of Social Entrepreneurship program offers: a two semester management course at IFA, a coach and tutor to help design a business plan to assist with the organizational development of each participant the possibility of receiving a contribution towards the making of a business plan.

The participants of the pilot phase of the program in 2005/2006 were the Sue Ryder Home, Portus Prague, and the Friends of Nature Society.
