A program component implemented by the Czech Donors Forum

This operational program focused on the promotion and cultivation of corporate philanthropy, and on developing mechanisms for easy giving that can serve individual donors. It also strived to provide space for discussion and networking between corporate donors and NGOs.

The program component ran from December 2002 to September 2003. A new webpage and new electronic Donors Forum's newsletter came to existence to serve as information tools to develop contacts with corporate donors. In cooperation with the Association of PR Agencies, a guide for PR agencies with information about various aspects of charitable activities and corporate philanthropy was produced. A Working Group was established to identify potentials for NGO-corporate collaboration in order to make individual giving easy: SMS charity giving was declared as a priority. Consequently, the cellular phone operators were contacted, and the basis for the Donors Message Service Project was laid. (The project was launched by the Czech Donors Forum in early 2004.)

In September 2003, the Donors Forum stepped down from the project implementation. At the same time, the corporate philanthropy issues outlined in the program proposal received substantial funding from EU-Phare sources. In order to avoid duplicities and not to overburden the target group of corporate donors with NGO-related events, this program component was terminated. The planned activities thus continued with financial support from other sources or - in the case of mechanisms enabling charitable giving - through other CEE Trust components.
