Charitable Wine Auction 2011

Over 300 guests joined us in making Charitable Wine Auction for the fifth time. It took place in Hotel Prague Marriott on Monday November 14. This evening managed by The Via Foundation and South Moravian Community Foundation earned almost CZK 760,000 which will be used to support charitable projects throughout Bohemia and Moravia.

The auction was attended by representatives of the largest Czech companies and private investors and patrons, and artists and diplomats, such as Valerie Raymond, the Ambassador of Canada.

For total amount of CZK 62,000 was auctioned Armagnac from the year 1939, who personally turned Philipp Gélas - current owner of the house, which was founded in 1865. It is the last family company producing Armagnac, which is never interrupted transmission of craft tradition from father to son.

The funds will be used among others to promote community and advocacy projects that make people defend public interest, and take such corrupt practices. We match the endowment and use the proceeds as part of the development activities of the VIA Foundation," says Jiri Barta, the director of the Via Foundation.

We warmly thank to all who helped us make this a wonderful evening.
