02/16/2010 - Concert for Haiti, Sunday, February 21 at Lucerna Music Bar

news February 21 at 8pm: The Via Foundation presents Czech music group Monkey Business performing a benefit concert at the Lucerna Music Bar to raise money for the reconstruction of schools in Haiti.

Special guests will include Dan Bárta, BIGG BOSS JAM (PSH, ORIKOULE, 518 + TOXXX), and Eddie Stoilow. (...more)

news We are pleased to announce a call for proposals for Via’s Czech Heritage program. The Czech Heritage Program focuses on rescuing, restoring, and preserving small historical landmarks throughout the Czech Republic. 07/15/2009 - 2009 Czech Heritage Society Grantee Profile: The Františkov chapel

The Františkov chapel Distinguished by its beautiful stone portal, the chapel in Františkov (in German, "Franzberg”) dates back to 1891. The chapel was constructed by German settlers who established the town in 1798 in the present-day Jeseník district of northern Moravia. Following the post-World War Two expulsion of the community’s German residents, the chapel was eventually abandoned. This led to the collapse of its roof, and the growth of a tree in the middle of the chapel which, by 2007, exceeded the height of the chapel tower itself! (...more)

Via is pleased to announce that Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, a native of Prague, Czech Republic, is scheduled to be guest speaker at the Via Foundation’s 10-year anniversary celebration in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (...more)

08/18/2006 - The First Round of 2006 Cultural Heritage Grants Have Been Announced!

The Via Foundation’s Cultural Heritage Selection committee selected 9 projects from a large pool of grant applications to restore and preserve monuments throughout the Czech Republic.
