Friends of Via

Friends of Via is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Friends of Via was created in 2005 as a United States-based partner to support the charitable activities of The Via Foundation located in Prague, Czech Republic.

Friends of Via works to increase awareness of the Czech Republic and of the Via Foundation’s charitable work in the areas of Czech Cultural Heritage, Community Development, Youth, and the Environment. Through these areas of interest, Friends of Via works to empower citizens and nonprofit organizations, promoting philanthropy, community activism, and respect for the environment through support and proliferation of successful models, in order to cultivate a strong civil society in the Czech Republic.

Friends of Via also acts as Via’s fiscal agent in North America. In this role, Friends of Via is an intermediary between North American donors to fund (through the Via Foundation) projects in the Czech Republic. All contributions to Friends of Via are tax deductible in accordance to US law.
